2011 Environmental Fun Day – A HUGE Success

One hundred and twenty grade 5 & 6 students from 3 local elementary schools visited Campbell’s Pond in New Glasgow on Friday, June 3rd, for our 2nd annual Watershed Environmental Fun Day.

With 6 bilingual presentation sites to visit, students were kept busy and engaged with nature through interesting displays and activities provided by this years EFD partners and volunteers;  The Wildlife & Forestry Divisions of the Dept. of Environment, Energy and Forestry,  The Sierra Club, The Bedeque Bay Environmental Management Association, Island Falconry, Island Nature Trust, The PEI Salmon Federation and the PEI Model Forest Network Partnership.

The Wheatley River Improvement Group and the Hunter-Clyde Watershed Group wishes to thank everyone who shared the day with us at Campbell’s Pond:  Allie & Chuck, Jon & Stephen, Jackie & Shannon, Gerald & Jamie, Sam & Quinton, Todd and Gerard, Jen, Beverly & Ashleigh and especially the amazing students and staff from L’école Saint Augustin, Central Queens Elementary and Gulfshore Consolidated.
